Face and Forehead Lift

Face lift operation: Signs of aging appear on the face due to the stress of daily life, sunlight and gravity; sagging and wrinkles appear. Percentage; It becomes evident as deep lines, wrinkles, wrinkles and fat accumulations around the eyelids, around the mouth and cheeks, under the chin and on the neck. Due to genetics or aging, facial tissues decrease, become weak, and sag over the facial bones in the direction of gravity. At the same time, dynamic lines appear as the facial muscles work for years and the folds of the skin on them become more evident. Facelift is an intervention aimed at eliminating these visible effects of advancing age.

Anatomy: The face is anatomically divided into three different regions. The upper face includes the temple area, forehead and eyebrows. The intervention applied to this area is the upper face lift procedure. The mid-face includes the cheek and upper lip region, the intervention applied to this area is the mid-face lift procedure. It includes the lower face, under the chin and the neck area. The intervention applied to this area is the lower face or neck lift. Surgical intervention can be applied to each area individually or together.

Upper face: Upper face lift is performed to lift the eyebrows and tighten the forehead and temple area. With the classical surgical technique, the distance between the hairline and both auricles is cut, and the forehead skin is stripped and stretched. In cases where there is not sufficient hair and skin abundance, the endoscopic technique is used and the surgery is performed with 4 2 cm long incisions between the hair.

Mid-face: Mid-face lift is performed to eliminate the sagging of the cheeks and tighten the cheek skin. The incision for the surgery is made along the ear lines, so there is no visible scar left. Endoscopic technique is used in cases where there is no abundance of skin. It is applied and the scars remain hidden only in the scalp, 2 cm long. It usually needs to be applied together with lower eyelid aesthetics. When the mid-face is lifted up in a vertical vector, excess skin in the lower eyelid area becomes noticeable.

Lower face: Neck lift is usually performed together with mid-face lift. The surgical incision made in the neck lift procedure is extended from behind the ear to the scalp. The skin and muscles of the neck are released and hung upwards. Sagging and wrinkles on the neck are eliminated, the chin angle becomes clear, and a taut neck appearance is achieved. Since the incision is behind the ear, there is no visible scar when viewed from the outside.

Pre-operation: We want the person on whom we are planning the operation to be checked, especially for heart and blood pressure disorders. Smoking must have been quit for a period of time. If these are taken into consideration, we will greatly reduce the possibility of complications after the operation.

Operation: The surgery is performed under local + sedation or general anesthesia and takes 3-5 hours depending on the procedures to be performed. Hospital stay is 1 day. For 2 days following the surgery, the face is wrapped with a slightly compressive bandage. After the surgery, there may be complaints such as pain in the facial area, feeling of tension, swelling, bruising and numbness on the skin surface. The pain is not severe enough to bother you and can be easily controlled with painkillers. The swelling decreases rapidly within the first few days, and it takes approximately 2-4 months for the remaining and slight swelling that is not noticeable to disappear and for the skin to fit properly on the face.

1 week before the surgery, depending on the movements of the facial muscles. To prevent the dynamic lines that appear from reoccurring and to relax these muscles before surgery. Botox can be applied to ensure healing. It is really difficult to give an age limit for this surgery.
