TIMING IN PREGNANCY

1-What should a woman who decides to become pregnant do?
Today, as women's goals and expectations regarding education and career have advanced considerably, the age of marriage is increasing and the number of planned children is decreasing. Therefore, it is very important to make plans for the child at the right time. A woman planning pregnancy must undergo a gynecological examination, breast examination and smear test before becoming pregnant, and start using folic acid 2-3 months before pregnancy. Gynecological examination reveals the presence of problems such as myomas, polyps and cysts that may prevent pregnancy or cause serious problems during pregnancy. If necessary, these problems can be treated. Breast examination is important. Because it is not easy to accurately evaluate the masses that will appear in the breast due to changes in the breasts both in the later months of pregnancy and during breastfeeding. With the smear test, it is possible to detect and appropriate treatment of cellular changes or pre-cancerous changes in the cervix. However, treatment of such problems detected during pregnancy may lead to some serious problems during pregnancy. Folic acid, which is started to be used 2-3 months before pregnancy, will significantly reduce the cerebrospinal system anomalies that may occur in the baby. If the woman has any known diseases during the gynecological examination, these should also be evaluated and, if necessary, evaluation should be requested from the relevant specialties. It is also very important for the woman to get rid of excess weight before pregnancy. Thus, the woman can be protected from the negative physical effects that pregnancy may have on her body.

2- What is the right timing and the most suitable age?
First of all, the woman must feel ready for pregnancy and motherhood. . We can say that the age range of 20-35 is the most suitable fertility age.

3- If we evaluate the problems related to early and advanced age pregnancies...
Both early ages (19 years of age) Pregnancies at both older ages (under 35) and older ages (over 35) bring with them various risks. The majority of early-age (under 19) pregnancies, which we call adolescence, are unplanned pregnancies. Because they are unplanned, a significant portion of these pregnancies end in miscarriage. In this period of pregnancy, both the mother and the baby are pregnant. There are some risks involved. Maternal and infant deaths have increased due to high blood pressure (pregnancy poisoning) and related diseases that occur during pregnancy. The chances of premature birth and low birth weight babies are also increased. In births in this age group, both maternal and infant mortality rates are higher. Pregnancies over the age of 35, which we call advanced maternal age, are also in the risk group. The risk of miscarriage is also increased in pregnancies in this group. The rate of anomalies that may develop in the baby increases depending on the age of the mother. The most prominent of these is the Mongolian baby cases, which we call Down syndrome. While the probability of giving birth to a Mongolian baby is 1/1000 for women under the age of 30, this rate is 1/400 at the age of 35 and 1/100 at the age of 40. Rates of gestational hypertension and related diseases (pregnancy poisoning), gestational diabetes, and premature birth have increased. Cesarean section rates at birth and maternal and infant mortality rates are high. Of course, due to the woman's marriage age or education or career reasons, a delayed pregnancy can be planned and healthy babies can be born. The important thing here is to implement an appropriate pregnancy follow-up program that will reveal possible risks.

4- Summer, winter or spring to get pregnant? Which season?
During pregnancy, metabolic activities in the female body, the workload of the heart and the pulse rate increase. Body temperature increases slightly due to hormonal changes. These inevitable changes are more evident in the second half of pregnancy. Therefore, experiencing the later stages of pregnancy in the summer months will be a little more troublesome for the woman. Already increased air temperatures will be felt more due to the woman's body temperature increasing. It is not possible to use the compression socks that we recommend for women with varicose veins in the summer months. The last months of pregnancies that begin in autumn and winter coincide with the summer season. However, pregnancies that begin in spring and summer occur in the later months of autumn and winter. These can be taken into consideration when planning pregnancy.

5- What time is it? Does the time matter?
The time of pregnancy has no known effect on the health of the pregnancy.

6- Men and women for healthy pregnancy What should be the age difference between them?
Such an age difference cannot be defined. However, pregnancies in women outside the age range of 19-35 are in the risk group. In men, reproductive capacity begins to decrease, albeit very slightly, starting from the age of 40 and continues until the age of 70. Advanced male age also has slightly negative effects on pregnancy.
