What Truth Do Student Exam Grades Tell?

What truth do student grades tell? Students received their report cards, February Break has already started with full swing and excitement. I congratulate all our students and you, our valued parents, on the performance shown in the first term of school. This article contains tips for your child to achieve higher academic and social performance in the second term.

If you, as a mother and father, are with our child during school, take care of him, support him in studying and preparing for exam periods. When we guide, take care of him, and keep track of how his study performance is reflected in each exam, the reporting information called report cards is only a detail. The grades on the report card may be surprising for parents who are not in close communication with their children and who do not have information or comments about their child's academic and individual course performance, but the reporting called "Report Card" is the result of a process. If the mother and father do not manage the process properly, the course grades can sometimes cause surprise.

A report card is the result reporting of a process.

When the first part of the academic education period, which lasted approximately 5 months, was completed, our students were presented with their report cards during the February Holiday, and with these report cards, the students' competencies in the following subjects were actually improved according to age. It was evaluated according to the group:

How does the student's study discipline, the time he spends at home? Many factors are considered, including peer relationships and digital technology addiction level. It affects academic success in school. Among the 10 items I mentioned above, the student must be in line with their age group. Then, the student will easily be rewarded for his efforts in academic and social development. However, students who have problems with issues such as stress, self-confidence, and attention management have difficulty reflecting their potential in academic and social fields.

For the course grades on the report card, I recommend that you, as parents, first evaluate the following: The grade received from that course is the grade your child receives. Does it reflect the level of knowledge and the study time allocated for that course? Yes, a 45 may have been obtained in the Mathematics course, but did the student perform the required study performance for that course at the required level? Depending on the answer to this question, the road maps to be followed will differ from each other.

As parents, we must embrace our children unlimitedly.

We want the academic and social potentials of our children. It doesn't matter whether it's big or small! It is very important and necessary for the child to know that his/her parents are always with him/her under any circumstances and in any situation. However, another responsibility of ours as parents is that if our child cannot successfully reflect and show his potential at school and in lessons, it is necessary to detect this situation correctly and take action to find the reasons and solutions. Disciplinary habits are not sufficiently developed, and this prevents the student from reflecting his high potential in exams. Sometimes, the student studies and makes an effort, but since he cannot manage his attention correctly in lessons and exams, he may make attention-related processing errors, errors due to incomplete or incorrect reading of the questions, and slippages in the answers.

This is the problem of attention management and lesson discipline. Accordingly, the Academic Learning Process cannot be used with sufficient efficiency. At such moments, getting expert support as soon as the mother and father realize the situation during the school year will be of great benefit.
