Ceramic Laminate Veneers

Ceramic laminate is the process of obtaining the desired aesthetic appearance on the teeth by adhesion (gluing with various materials) of ceramic materials to the front area of the tooth.

Ceramic laminates are used to eliminate discolorations that occur on the teeth for various reasons, and to eliminate crookedness and deformities in the front teeth. There are reasons for use such as aesthetic correction, replacement of tooth tissue lost due to fractures, cracks and caries in the front teeth, lengthening of the front teeth for aesthetic needs, correction of deformities in the teeth due to genetic diseases, removal of wear on the teeth and aesthetics of small or gapped front teeth.

After the color selection is made, before doing any abrasion on the teeth, the dentist shapes the teeth with composite filling material to decide how the teeth will look when bonded to the ceramic laminate. Measurements are taken and a study is requested from the laboratory on how the final state of the ceramic laminates will be made using wax modeling. Then, 0.3-0.5 mm (approximately nail thickness) abrasion is made on the front surfaces of the teeth on which ceramic laminate veneers will be applied, and the teeth are measured using precise measurement methods. As a result of laboratory studies, laminate prostheses are prepared in the desired form from ceramic material. After the necessary rehearsals are made in the patient's mouth, ceramic laminates are bonded to the dental tissue with adhesive materials. Until the laboratory procedures are completed, the teeth are covered with temporary restorations by the dentist.
