What is an alkaline diet and what is not?
The importance of the alkaline diet, first proposed by doctor William Howard Hay in 1907, has begun to be better understood today. Foods are generally classified into two categories, acidic or alkaline, depending on the residue they leave in the body after being metabolized. In order to keep the pH level of the blood between 7.35 and 7.45, our bones try to balance the acidic waste caused by excess protein by mixing alkaline minerals into the blood. Acidic wastes are eliminated from the body through the kidneys and urine. The lungs take in oxygen, which is alkaline, and give out carbon dioxide, which is acid.
Alkaline nutrition, based on vegetable and fruit juices, strengthens our immune system by keeping acid-forming foods away from the body.
So, what are alkaline foods?
Alkaline Minerals: Magnesium, calcium, potassium, iron, manganese.
Acidic Minerals: Phosphorus, iodine, sulfur.
Alkali-forming Foods: All raw vegetables, spinach, broccoli, asparagus, endive, artichoke, cabbage, cauliflower, radish, leek, lettuce, cress, purslane, turnip, beetroot, celery, green beans, fresh peas, olive oil, linseed oil, green tea, herbal teas, dates, carrots, watermelon, melon, pineapple, kiwi, avocado, pomegranate, fig, ginger. , almonds, sesame seeds.

What is alkaline water?
Our body's acid balance becomes irregular due to malnutrition, diseases, stress and environmental conditions. As a result of the irregularity of the acid balance, we encounter problems such as weight gain, failure to heal, and depression. The body has difficulty excreting some of the acids. Alkaline water strengthens the immune system by allowing toxins and acids to be removed more easily. It regulates the water balance of cells. Metabolism slows down as a result of excess acid. With alkaline water, the acid balance is re-established, metabolism is accelerated and fat burning is supported in this way.
The easiest recipe for preparing alkaline water:
Put 1 tablespoon of baking soda into 2 liters of water and mix until it becomes homogeneous. This prepared mixture is consumed throughout the day.
