Pregnancy Tracking

The moment we plan to have a child, our pregnancy process begins when the sperm we meet fertilizes the egg. The first trimester (first three months) covers the process in which the baby's cellular number increases, it attaches to the uterus, forms its sac, becomes visible, and begins to grow. This process, in which the expectant mother feels special and jumps with happiness, can also be a bit challenging for the expectant mother due to some physiological and hormonal changes in the body. The second trimester is the most enjoyable period of your pregnancy. Your energy, which decreased in the first three months, has been restored in this period, and the indescribable sensations that you begin to feel your baby's movements will add happiness to your happiness. Your baby's feet and wrists have formed, his fingers and toes are separated from each other, and his facial features are almost fully formed. Your baby's movements, whose bones and muscles are strengthened, are much more noticeable. Your appetite may increase to meet the vitamins and nutrients your rapidly growing baby needs. The last three months are the period in which both you and your baby will experience the fastest physical change. Even though you may experience shortness of breath, hip and waist pain, cramps, indigestion, heartburn, constipation and sleep problems due to the size of your belly and the strengthening of your baby's movements, your excitement will increase with each day you get closer to meeting your baby.

40 weeks of patient waiting. When it comes to an end, it means that we have come to the birth process in which everyone plays a leading role in their own story. In the light of the pregnancy and birth training you received during all your control processes, your birth type is determined with the birth suitability examinations performed by your doctor. If all conditions are suitable for normal birth, the healthiest way to give birth for a baby is to have a normal birth vaginally. However, if there are medical processes that prevent this, cesarean section appears as an alternative birth method. Let's not forget that no matter what your birth method is, there is only one goal throughout all the checks, which is to ensure that your baby, which is expected day by day with patience and effort, opens its eyes to the world in good health.

What should be done to control the health of the baby and mother in this process?

Yes, there are weeks during pregnancy when some screening tests are performed. Especially in first pregnancies, expectant mothers are worried about not knowing the tests and missing them. Let's give a brief summary for you. As soon as pregnancy is planned, first of all, the expectant mother's blood tests and examination should be performed and folic acid supplementation should be started. If all conditions are suitable for pregnancy, a risk assessment of the baby in terms of Down syndrome is performed with a double screening test between the 11th and 14th weeks after pregnancy occurs. Then, a triple screening test is performed between the 16th and 20th weeks to evaluate the formation of the baby's nervous system. Of course, these tests are not mandatory; if the family wishes, they can be performed in accordance with the doctor's recommendation. 20.-24. Detailed ultrasonography is performed between weeks 24-28 to make a detailed anatomical evaluation of the baby. A sugar loading test or fasting and postprandial blood sugar control is performed between weeks. Again, at the 28th week, if the mother's blood group is negative and the father's blood group is positive, a blood incompatibility injection is administered. The 32nd week is the week when working mothers-to-be must receive their work or non-work reports (this week has been moved to the 24th week for pregnant women working in official institutions due to the pandemic), and as of this week, monitoring of the baby's heartbeat and uterine contractions begins with NST. A report of being unable to work is prepared for expectant mothers at the 37th week. At the 38th week, a roof examination check for birth suitability analysis can be performed. The application week of this examination may vary. With the onset of labor symptoms, the expectant mother is given birth using the appropriate delivery method.
