Excessive sweating is called hyperhidrosis. Hyperhidrosis is caused by overactive sweat glands. Sweat glands are most commonly found in the hands, feet and armpits. Because people with hyperhidrosis produce high amounts of sweat, their hands, feet, chest or armpits are constantly wet.
