Zirconium Supported Teeth

For many years, different metals have been used to support the substructure of porcelain teeth, but due to the lack of light permeability of metals or their weight, the required aesthetics, naturalness and comfort have not been fully achieved. For many years, worthless metal substructures have caused gum discoloration or gum and soft tissue problems in patients with metal allergies. For this reason, it has been tested in laboratory environments for years whether other substances used in the industrial field can be used in dentistry.

Dentistry has turned to the use of valuable substances that provide a natural appearance with light transmittance as well as function and durability.

< Zirconium oxide, which takes its name from the Arabic and Persian word Zargun, meaning golden color, has found its place in dentistry as Zircon. Zircon, which has an opaque and white structure, has met the required features with its light permeability.
Like Zircon, which has been recently developed in aesthetic and prosthetic treatments, it is a tissue-friendly, highly resistant product that completes color integrity, does not cause allergic reactions, and eliminates hot and cold sensitivity. .

These zirconium-supported aesthetic materials began to be applied in dentistry approximately 20-25 years ago, and today they have become widely used in porcelain applications.
