EARLY ADOLESCENCE
Early puberty; is defined as the onset of puberty symptoms before the age of 8 in girls and before the age of 9 in boys. The first sign of puberty in girls is often breast development. Then, hair growth appears in the armpit and genital area. In men, the first sign of puberty is testicular enlargement. This is followed by penis enlargement and hair growth in the genital area and armpit. Although there are opinions that the frequency of early puberty has increased in our country in recent years, studies conducted both in our country and in western countries show that there is no significant shift in the age of puberty. Eating habits, obesity, hormonal diseases and tumors are among the factors that can cause early puberty. The most important problems in cases of early puberty are psychosocial and behavioral problems that may arise due to the premature closure of the pineal lines, resulting in the child's final adult height being short, and experiencing puberty at an early age, unlike his friends of the same age. For this reason, in necessary cases, the clinical situation must be defined and the underlying factors must be examined and examined by a specialist physician. Treatment can be started in cases where an indication is given.
