Dental Stone and Tartar Cleaning

Dental calculus, or tartar, is a product of minerals and plaque in your saliva. Dental plaque, a transparent and sticky layer in the mouth, mixes with saliva and adheres to the tooth surface. A hard and rough layer forms on the tooth surface. This layer is tartar, which will no longer be sufficient to clean it. Stone creates the biggest problem, especially when it forms below the gum line. The stone is calcareous and hard; It is difficult to clean. Tartar, also known as tartar, is the most important cause of dental diseases. Tartar should be removed regularly. When not cleaned, it can cause major damage, including tooth loss. Unfortunately, it is the stones (tartar) that form under the gums that cause periodontitis, a gum disease that can result in tooth loss. Where there is tartar, there is gingivitis. Bleeding and bad odor occur in inflamed areas.

After correctly performed scaling treatment, teeth and gums can easily regain their healthy state. Although dental scaling is known as "harmful" among the public, doing it every 6 months is a must for oral health. It is a procedure performed with extremely modern tools, without damaging the teeth or gums. Especially for stones below the gum line, it is done by scraping the tooth with tools called gratuars and curettes. The process is uncomfortable and makes your gums bleed. Another method is to use a vibrator that helps remove the stones. These days, toothpastes are recommended against tartar. These toothpastes have been found to reduce stone buildup on teeth above the gum line, but have little or no effect on stones below the gum line. We cannot completely remove tartar formation with devices such as mouthwash and dental floss made at home. Dental tartar gradually damages the organs in the mouth, one by one. That's why you should see your dentist every 6 months.
