As a requirement of the baby's existence, there is also physiological development in addition to the development of mental health;
Physiological Development; It follows a certain order, nothing happens before or after its time. The principle of readiness requires this.
Development occurs in a certain order, from head to toe; It extends from the inside to the outside. First the internal organs develop, then the external organs. A baby who cannot hold his head cannot sit, for example.
According to general norms, follow the development we expect from babies:
0-12 months:
-Does he look at you face to face and smile?
-Does he reach out to grasp the rattle?
-Does he follow colorful objects with his eyes and is he aware that they are there when you hide them behind your back?
-Can he laugh? ?
-Does he turn and look towards the sounds he hears such as clicking and noise?
-Can he lift his chest with the support of his arms when you lay him on his stomach?
-Can he turn around completely where he lies?
-On his own Can he eat biscuits and bread?
-Can he use the words of his parents consciously, not in the form of spelling?
-Can he stand for 5-6 seconds without holding on to anything?
If your baby is over 1 year old It is expected that he/she has these skills.
24-36 months:
Can he drink water from a glass alone?
Can he help with the work at home? (You can now get simple help from him when setting the table)
Can he eat completely using both a fork and a spoon?
Can he wear the lower parts of his clothes (pajamas, etc.)?
Can he say his name and surname?
/> Can their speech be clearly understood by individuals outside the family?
Can they jump with their feet off the ground?
Can they ride a bicycle by pedaling without dragging their feet?
If your baby is over 3 years old, he/she has these skills. It is expected to be done.
36-60 months:
-Can put on the lower parts of his clothes by himself
-Can put on the upper parts of his clothes by himself, even if they are inside out.
-With Legos He can do the same by looking at the simple shapes you have built.
-He can draw a picture of a person with rough lines and limbs in place.
-He can answer the questions of what to do when you are hungry or tired.
-The opposite of simple words. Knows the child's needs (day and night, big and small, etc.)
This age range is especially critical; any action that the parent takes on behalf of the child, thinking that the child cannot do it or with concerns about being a better mother, will damage his sense of entrepreneurship. He will become dependent on the mother. .
As of the age of 5;
He can fully dress himself, including buttoning up his buttons.
He can draw a human picture (A picture with the head, body and legs is considered sufficient)
It can stand on one leg (both right and left) for about 6-7 seconds without holding on to anything.
Generally, children who have developed normally until the age of 1 and completed their developmental tasks on time do not develop developmental delays later.
It is frequently encountered between 6 months and 5 years of age and may disrupt development; In external situations, the permanent effect of febrile/afebrile convulsion;
If children are left inexperienced by their parents, development may be considered as delayed. This is a case of false delay. It would be an appropriate attitude for the parent to give his child the opportunity to experience experiences by getting rid of his own concerns, not to do it on behalf of the child in order to approach the normal development level, but to give him the opportunity to experience himself with enough support and to ensure that the child feels the feeling of success.
If, despite your appropriate attitudes, your child's development is not as described above If it differs from general world norms, it is of great importance to have your child's development evaluated and followed up without delay in terms of early diagnosis and early intervention.
