Pregnancy or menopause may cause migraine to occur or may change the course of existing migraine attacks. Hormone medications used by women can also worsen the course of migraine.

Stress at work and home life may be one of the causes of migraine attacks. Insomnia, excessive sleep, and deterioration in sleep quality may cause migraine attacks to become more frequent or occur. Hunger or overeating, some foods and additives in food, alcohol and caffeinated drinks can trigger migraines. Environmental air pressure or pressure changes can trigger migraines. Noise, bright lights, exposure to sunlight, and some intense odors can trigger migraine.

Patients with migraine Pain threshold level is very low. Acupuncture treatment increases the patient's pain threshold level.
