Therapy helps us not only with the current problem, but also with the problems we face in our daily lives. It guides the person to understand his feelings and thoughts, improves his problem-solving skills, improves his ability to find solutions by being more flexible in the face of difficulties, and helps the person to make sense of past experiences that he cannot make sense of. It helps to improve mental health, increase resilience, make positive changes in life and understand the difference between one's own feelings, thoughts and behaviors. Emotion management, establishing and maintaining healthy relationships.. I define the therapy process as a journey of finding yourself that you and your therapist are on as a team, not a way where you struggle with problems alone and seek a solution. The fact that my clients experience healing and increase their own resources during the therapy process are all processes that we will explore together as client and therapist.
What awaits you on this journey?
Your session process is very easy, very painful, It can be very bumpy. This is all part of the therapy process. Each session is a different and special experience. It is normal to feel nervous before the session, not knowing what to say, having too many thoughts and confusion. Emotions and thoughts that change during the session are all normal. After the session, the feeling of being lighter, hopeful or heavier and tired are all normal feelings after the session.
Experiential Play Therapy
Play is for children just like eating, drinking water, as necessary as sleep. Adults can express their feelings and thoughts with words, but this is not the case for children, the way children express themselves is through games. Experiential play therapy can be applied to children starting from this period, which is usually 2 years old, who can develop abstract play. In the experiential play therapy process, the child's body, toy choices and metaphors in the playroom are more than what they tell with words.
