Houses in big cities are now sized like our 1+1, 1+2, 1+3 clothes (36, 38, 40 sizes). 3+1 is no longer necessary for a newly married couple or a retired couple whose children have left home. It means loss of money and effort.
Furnishing, cleaning and heating empty rooms are unnecessary expenses. For years, we heated 250 m2 houses that were empty all day long, but now the heaters we turn on only in the evenings are more economical. Secondly, we are burdened with the cars waiting in the garage, gasoline, insurance, withholding tax, traffic fines, parking fees, maintenance and taxes.
Clothes, heavy embroidered satin cotton quilts that were included in our dowry 30 years ago, old lacy embroidered quilt sheets that are not practical like duvet covers and need to be covered are waiting yellowed.
An important expense is jewellery, make-up items…
The sentence in an advertising store is "there should be products in our hair wardrobe". I was quite surprised when I saw the jewelry cabinet in the store I went to for a necessity. Shampoo, conditioner, maintenance, polishing, vitamins for hair... We are the children of the grandmother and mother who used to clean the whole house and children with a bar of soap and a pot of water! We no longer work for "bread money". Electricity and water are not important either.
Dues worse than rent due to phones, rent, withholding tax, gym and swimming pool we don't use. Ornaments and trinkets that we expect to polish and get dusty again…
Our life should be simple, light, practical, economical, and our thoughts and feelings should be deep.
