The vaginal tightening procedure, also known as vaginoplasty, is a surgery performed upon the patient's request to improve the quality of life and sexual life.
What is the basis of vaginal tightening?
The decision for this surgery will be made very carefully and meticulously urogynecologically. -It should be given after a pelvic floor examination. First of all, the patient must be uncomfortable with the width of the vagina. What I want to emphasize here is that the recommendation for vaginal tightening is not a decision to be made based on the surgeon's opinion. Just like the nose, eyebrow and ear structure, if the patient is not disturbed by this situation, no recommendation should be made. On the contrary, in some cases, the patient may request vaginal tightening, but a normal vaginal structure can be observed during the pelvic floor examination. At such times, it should be suggested that the patient should reconsider the surgery.
Why is vaginal tightening not performed on everyone?
Vagina tightening is a surgery aimed at ensuring anatomical, functional and aesthetic well-being. Even if one of the steps is missing, objective and subjective success cannot be achieved. For example, the patient may experience severe pain during sex with a vagina that looks very aesthetic upon postoperative examination, or may not be able to achieve full penis penetration and sexual intercourse. As in this example, anatomical and aesthetic well-being was achieved, but functional well-being was not achieved. Patients who develop excessive stenosis after surgery may need repeat surgery, and these second surgeries are much more difficult than narrowing surgery. Or, the satisfaction after vaginal tightening may last for a very short time and the patient may need surgery again. In this example, functional and aesthetic well-being was achieved, but anatomical well-being was not achieved.
What is the vaginal tightening surgery process?
The patient is hospitalized for 1 or 2 days. Checks are made at the 1st week and 1st month of the surgery. A 1-month sexual ban is recommended until the stitches heal.
Can you get pregnant after vaginal tightening?
There is no problem getting pregnant after the surgery, but vaginal birth may be difficult. When it comes time to give birth, a cesarean section may have to be recommended due to the influence of many other factors. Another warning: Pregnancy itself may cause changes in the female pelvic floor, in which case satisfaction may be partially due to birth. It may cause its subsequent decrease. Therefore, if the patient is very determined to have vaginal tightening and become pregnant when accepting the demands of patients who do not expect a baby in the future, all possible possibilities should be discussed with the patient.
