What are Porcelain Teeth?
Our aim in the restorations we make on the teeth is to improve the patient's lost function, aesthetics and tooth-related speech disorders.
With the prostheses made, not only in terms of nutrition and health of the patients, but also It is aimed to improve the psychology of individuals who have to live with missing or ruined teeth in social life by gaining their self-confidence.
Like other organs in our body, our teeth are affected by the problems brought by time. With aging, teeth are damaged to different degrees due to fractures, cracks, discoloration, wear due to parafunctional disorders, and gum diseases. It also causes material loss in teeth due to accidents and caries. In such cases, we call the restorations we make to replace the lost tissues in the treatment of teeth, crowns.
We use porcelain material for veneer restorations. Porcelains are restorations obtained by firing ceramic powders at high temperatures. The firing process enables the ceramic to acquire properties similar to the enamel that forms the outer part of the tooth, both in color and structure. Porcelain veneers can maintain their color and form stably for many years.
In what cases are crown restorations performed?
In teeth that have suffered excessive material loss due to caries, trauma or any other reason
In teeth with color problems
In deformed teeth
Closing the gaps between the teeth
In the presence of large fillings
In the presence of wide fillings
In the gaps formed after gum surgery In closure
In which case are bridge restorations performed?
In cases where tooth loss occurs for any reason, restorations made with support from neighboring teeth are called bridge prostheses.
Crown and bridge restorations. How is it done?
In this type of restorations, we first need to make a certain amount of preparations on the supporting teeth. The amount of this process is determined by the restorative material to be used. Using porcelain as the substructure in ceramic applications without metal support results in less preparation than the supporting teeth.
After the preparation, temporary restorations are made so that the patient can continue his normal life without leaving the clinic.
The most appropriate tooth color is selected, taking into account the patient's wishes.
Our ceramic restoration is prepared and rehearsed based on the measurements taken.
The restorations, which are evaluated by both the patient and the physician in terms of aesthetics and function, are bonded to the teeth with special cements.
