Play is one of the ways to best support a child's development. The games you play during infancy support your child's cognitive development. It contributes to language development. It accelerates development in every field. Most importantly, your child calms down and feels safe through play. It is also known that play strengthens mother-child bonding.
So what kind of games can we play?
1-) Tunnel game, Stand with your legs open. First, pass your baby between your legs with help, making a "choo-choo" sound a few times. Let's see if he will try to crawl or walk while making the same noise. Encourage him with applause as he tries. You can even give him a wheeled toy and encourage him to push it through the tunnel.
2-) Mirror game, Sit your baby in front of a mirror or hold a mirror up to him. While he is looking in the mirror, touch various parts of his head and face and say their names. Then ask him to touch the places you named. It may take some time to get used to this game. Once you get used to this game, you can touch your own face and head in the mirror and say their names again, then ask your baby to touch your face as you say the names.
3-) Block games, Block games that teach colors and shapes. you can play. If you do not have block games, etc., you can turn this into a game by using different colored items at home (fabric, pillow, fruit, etc.) and teaching them to match the ones of the same color and shape. For example, if there are 2 red apples, you can hide one of them in a not very difficult place with a few other different foods or items and show the red apple in your hand and ask them to find the same one.
4-) Pillow game, small children try to hide in small houses made of pillows. They faint. You can make a house out of sofa cushions and go inside to create an imaginary game. You can camp in the forest and catch imaginary fish in the sea. Be careful that there are no scary elements in your dreams. Don't let a shark attack you at sea, or let a storm break out and your ship sink. Catch fish if possible, then take them home, etc. Have a nice day.
5-) Packing game, choose 3-4 small toys and pack them with aluminum foil. Take it, put it in front of your baby and ask, “What do you think is inside?” ask. Then encourage him to open the package, he will love it. There is a high probability that he will continue to play with both the foil and the toy even after opening it.
