A Story of Anxiety

“Suzan and her husband woke up early today, just like every working day.

As soon as Suzan woke up, she went to her 16-month-old daughter. He checked if his daughter was breathing. Suzan continued this control from time to time at night. Then he covered his daughter more tightly and went to the kitchen with his wife.

While Suzan and her husband were preparing breakfast, Suzan looked at her husband and asked, "Will anything happen to her when she leaves the house today?" He was experiencing anxiety. These questions constantly crossed his mind, and as he thought about them, his eyes filled with tears and he felt a pain in his chest.

After his wife went to work, he sat in front of the television to watch his favorite programs. After watching television for a while, he took action to do the housework.

While he was doing his work in the kitchen, the phone rang and suddenly his heart started beating rapidly. When she picked up the phone, she saw that her father was calling. The only thing that came to his mind at that moment was that something bad had happened to his mother. This thought made him feel very bad. She answered the phone in fear. She immediately asked about her mother. Meanwhile, his heart was beating rapidly again and his breath was short. This continued until he talked to his mother and heard that her voice was fine.

Even though he was sure that his mother was fine after the phone call, the thought that one day something would happen to her and she would leave his life continued to cross his mind. She started to think about her other loved ones and relatives, just like her mother. His wife, child or siblings could have left his life in the same way.

For this reason, he could not control his tears and could not continue his work efficiently. Frequent crying spells were negatively affecting his quality of life.

In the evening, when his wife came home, they had dinner together and started watching television in the living room.

When it came to channels with news, he was quickly switching over these channels because he knew that he was disturbed by the news content. She was having difficulty falling asleep at night because of the worry that the negative events in the news would happen to her or someone in her family.

Suzan had been trying to live with this problem for the last month..."
