First, I would like to talk about the physiological origin of creativity;
The child reaches the peak level of creativity between the ages of 3-6, his imagination is quite developed in this period. After the age of 6, this interesting creativity performance starts to decrease in about 2 years, that is, during the school period. So why? Because when children reach the school period, they begin to adapt to the rules and order of the society on a realistic level, and they cannot think independently and uniquely from the environment they live in, as in the 3-6 age range. After the age of 6, the prefrontal cortex (consciousness, social rules section) in the child's brain begins to develop in the school period. The prefrontal cortex is the part that enables a person to live consciously by socializing and recognizing the social order. As a child, the weak network structure between the limbic system and the frontal cortex also inhibits or reduces the control of cortex (consciousness) formations over the emotional structures located in the limbic (primitive impulsive region). Thus, the person who lacks this connection of the cortex, which includes control and restraint, becomes more instinctive, primitive, disconnected, original and unbanned. This process also provides an ideal basis for creativity, similar lack of connection can be found in many famous and unique painters and composers. In short, we can say that creativity is a bit outside the monotonous order and rules. In other words, if we simplify the above anatomical information; The child is creative as long as it is allowed, because as long as he lives with his family, the child's future form is formed by shaping them like dough, and in addition, our education system, which is kneaded with an extreme series of rules, is actually the biggest obstacle in front of children's creativity. So why is creativity so important? Because creativity brings with it the ability to solve problems. The dream of every family is that their child has the ability to stand on his own feet. But imagine a generation who was raised as a princess and prince from the moment they were born, everything they want is given to them without effort, if not, families face coping mechanisms such as getting offended, getting bored quickly and giving up. When they grow up, they realize that they are not members of the royal family at their workplaces; they realize in the superficial brutal boss-worker dialogues that lack empathy and are made without eye contact, or they begin to recognize the real life in the heartache of that first love, which they could not receive in return... They are looking for other ways to obtain the satisfaction that comes with the solutions offered by the family they are accustomed to reach, that is, dopamine, which gives a feeling of happiness and pleasure: they create happiness platforms in the virtual world, they turn to alcohol and drug addiction ... the family says: "You are super special, we are behind you, even in front of you, we'll solve the problem for you", the reality is the current system says: "I don't care" ....and the result is serious confusion, identity confusion, lack of self-confidence, social failures and asociality ... what friends in a world really "like" them!!! nor their bosses...but there is a need for dopamine, that is happiness, which is obtained without effort or as a result of approval or reward...then alcohol and drug addiction, asociality or superficial relationships devoid of emotion, empathy, internet addiction, depression, increases in suicide rates. unwanted situations occur... and a structure called 'lost generation' is formed in our hands... instead of making judgments that "wasn't like this in our time"; Parents, trainers and employers should ask themselves whether we are trying to win them over or are we treating them as faulty versions. Because with these upbringing models and the education system that restricts creativity, this generation is not likely to acquire the creative solution-oriented skills they need to cope with daily life, and they do not even have an example model that satisfies them to acquire these skills... they don't have the infrastructure and awareness. We did not allow them to find their way out, to develop their awareness and questioning skills... we tried to do whatever they wanted as a reflection and compensation for our own resentments... We tried to make them die what we couldn't... we nurtured their neurotic, undeserving side... We didn't teach them to question, for example How many parents have researched and applied Socratic questioning to their children! By the way, let's talk a little bit about WHAT SOCRATIC INQUIRY IS;
The Socratic method is the philosophical thinking of the ancient Greek philosopher Socrates and the method of teaching knowledge by asking questions. Socrates' teaching his students information by asking questions is known as Socratic dialogue.
1) Irony stage: Questions are asked about the information that the person knows or thinks he knows as true.
2) Inquiry stage: At this stage, it is to make the person realize the inconsistency and contradiction between the thoughts of the individual, that what the individual knows as true does not actually have solid foundations. Children who grow up in this way grow up to be more creative, practical intelligence, solution-oriented, high empathy skills, and therefore individuals with improved awareness. Therefore, although they are more successful in life, they feel more successful and satisfied, and the measured happiness levels of these children are much higher than their peers.
