The psychosexual developmental periods of the child between the ages of 0-6 are divided into 3: oral, anal and phallic periods:
ORAL PERIOD:
• It is the period until the average age of 1.5.
• It is the period when pleasure is taken with the mouth. The child sucks the breast for 3-4 minutes and the remaining 10-15 minutes. He gets emotions from his mother. Here, saying 'the child is no longer breastfeeding, he is full' and pulling the breast creates an emotional trauma for the child.
• It is a period when basic trust with the mother is established and the baby's needs must be met satisfactorily.
• People who have experienced obsession during this period generally deal a lot with oral issues; He chews a lot of gum, smokes and drinks alcohol frequently, and bites his nails.
ANAL PERIOD:
• It is the period between approximately 1.5-3 years of age.
• It is the period when the ability to release and retain feces is acquired. With this gain, the child sees that he can activate a behavior with his own will, gains autonomy from the mother and begins to take steps towards individualization.
• The child sees the feces coming out of himself as something very valuable. He doesn't want to give it away. Too much pressure while toilet training; This creates conflict in the child and the child may become stingy, stubborn or a collector in the future. Rarely, it is the opposite and is very wasteful.
PHALLIC PERIOD:
• It is the period when sexual identity is formed between the ages of 3-6.
• During this period, the child begins to establish three-way relationships. While there was only him and his mother in the first 3 years of age, he now started to become aware of his father.
• At this stage, as sexual urges begin to be felt, the boy has a sexual orientation towards the mother, and the girl has a sexual orientation towards the father. However, the child sees his mother or father as his rival and enters into conflict with him.
