smiling freely

A sincere, sincere and cordial smile is the greatest principle of communication. It helps you make a visible difference and value in both your private, social and business life. What if I told you that a warm sincere smile can affect the policies of countries?

Date: 12 April 1961, the first human in space!

Gherman Stepanovich Titov and Yuri Gagarin. Two of the most important Soviet heroes in space history. During the cold war years, in the fierce space race between the USSR and the USA, the USSR had difficulty in choosing the cosmonauts to send into space. Both of them had successfully passed all training. Both candidates were extremely successful, talented and enthusiastic. In fact, in the opinion of the majority, Titov was a superior cosmonaut than Gagarin.

This difficult choice could not be made until the day of the first flight in April 1961. Finally, a few hours before the departure, the Soviet air force commander made his choice and announced that the first person to go to space would be Yuri Gagarin.

What was the reason for Titov not being selected? Why was Gagarin chosen?

Sources say that Gagarin just had a "more beautiful smile" and that Titov was not chosen because people did not like his serious appearance. The strongest reason for choosing Gagarin is that he was thought to be more useful for Soviet propaganda with his sympathetic, warm face smiling with his teeth. This smile of the astronaut getting off the spacecraft would have a positive impact on the public, even if the space travel failed, which led to the election of Gagari.
