Fear

Fear is an emotion that gets in our way for many issues, sometimes motivating us and sometimes hindering us. When we are afraid, it can be difficult for us to walk on the path we want to follow. Because it becomes easier for us to give up and this path becomes bigger and bigger in our eyes. Usually, before a fear, we talk to ourselves for a long time and keep telling ourselves why we should be afraid. This makes us even more afraid and we have no reason to give up. But when we realize this, we can see that our fears may actually be unfounded and that we deserve another chance.

Why does fear hinder us so much?
Some of our behaviors have protected us for generations. For example; escape, if our ancestors had not learned to escape from harmful animals or natural events. Their lives would probably end and they would not survive until our generation. What I mean is that some behaviors are necessary. Similarly, fear protects us and signals us to be careful. But I think we sometimes misjudge this. For example; We want to enroll in a course and achieve success in a subject. However, we cannot take the first step towards this. Because we hesitate, we give up and we are afraid.

Why?
Maybe we are afraid of not being able to do it, maybe of being embarrassed, or maybe because of other things, and we don't give ourselves a chance. This sometimes makes us feel like an introvert and unable to get what we want. When we do this over and over again, we experience 'learned helplessness'.

No matter how hard we try, we limit ourselves because we think we can't do it anyway, and the result: Of course, we can't do it. Because that's what we told ourselves. Is it possible for us to be surprised by the result?

Just as fear motivates us, it can also discourage us. However, being aware will prevent all of this and take us towards our goals.

Let's think about the things we fear and imagine that the consequences may not be what we think. And maybe let's take one small step. Let's see if the result is as we imagined?

Being brave means taking action despite all the "despite"...
