When this type of fungus, caused by Candida albicans, is seen in babies, it is called thrush. Generally, the corners of the lips are softened; It is covered with small white crusts that are very painful. A baby with thrush is uncomfortable while breastfeeding and may even refuse to breastfeed. Wiping the inside of the mouth with a baking soda cloth helps in the treatment.
A healthy newborn baby can usually overcome the disease on its own. However, if the fungus has spread to large areas or if it has not healed for a long time, a doctor should be consulted.

Uncleaned removable dentures create a suitable environment for food residues to accumulate easily and thus fungus formation. Therefore, after each meal, both the inner and outer parts of the denture and the inside of the mouth should be cleaned properly
