As it is known, the whole world is struggling with the Covid-19 epidemic. This issue has been occupying the world agenda for about 4 months. Due to Covid-19, which has become the main topic of the agenda and our nightmare for the last few months due to the rapid spread and deaths in European countries and our country, scientists' recommendations for limiting social contact and hygiene have become central to all of our lives.
Yes, it seems like bad things are happening out there. People get sick, some of them have a very bad illness and unfortunately face the cold face of death. There are doctors who have the misfortune and desperation of being responsible for choosing the person who will die due to the lack of vital medical equipment such as intensive care beds or respirators, and who have to carry the traces of this soul-searching throughout their lives. There are healthcare workers who have to come into close contact with patients without adequate medical equipment and under inappropriate conditions, who get sick and die while trying to help them hold on to life, and who are exposed to the tragedy of leaving their children without parents. There are mothers who have to be isolated in quarantine and who have to stop breastfeeding their babies and have to endure being without them for 2 weeks, and there are babies who are deprived of their mothers' smell and warmth for 2 weeks. I guess there are many more.
Our life routine has changed a lot. Going to shopping malls freely and shopping, sitting in a cafe and sipping the fragrant Turkish coffee, taking a walk while holding our lover's hand, watching our children play in the parks, wondering who disturbs us at this hour when the phone rings, saying "call it tomorrow" and putting it on busy, being sure that we can find everything easily when we go to the market. being, visiting our parents, hugging them tightly and kissing their hands, doing sports together in the gyms, going to the matches on the weekends and then wondering who will be the champion this year. Discussing why this VAR exists. It's been feeling very distant and foreign to our souls for a while now, hasn't it?
Weren't we the ones who found life boring and meaningless,
Weren't we the ones who got bored of going to shopping malls and the crowds there?
Weren't we the ones who held our lover's hand and walked while we were at home surfing the internet or playing online games? who found it unnecessary to do this,
Wasn't it us, who complained about being tired of taking the children to the park,
Wasn't it us, who found the varieties in the markets insufficient,
Wasn't it us, Mother – Were we not the ones who found visiting fathers and their physical contact obsolete, who put football and mass sports at the top of the list of things that were very dirty and should be removed from our lives, I think we were all of them.
So what has changed?
Where we look and what we see has changed.
Why has it changed?
It must be due to the uncertainty, unpredictability and security threat that restricts our freedom, which our spiritual structure does not like at all.
Our reference to the world and the meaning we give to it have changed. We started to see the dangers that we had covered up, ignored, and in a way overlooked, we had to see and feel. Of course, in parallel with this, we began to perceive the beauties in our lives that we were not aware of. It's as if a third eye came into play.
Although the dangerous aspects of the Covid-19 epidemic, the precautions to be taken by individuals / countries, and its uncertain aspects are clearly stated by scientists, why;
Some of us ;
'' It doesn't work in Turkish genes''
'' Virus doesn't work on a believer.''
'' It can't do anything to me, every day We take it lightly with statements such as "I eat onions, garlic, " etc.
Some of us;
'' This is a step of capitalism made to kill the elderly.''
'' First They made a virus that kills people over the age of 70, and next year they will make a virus epidemic that kills people over the age of 40. They will eliminate middle-aged and elderly people and accelerate the transition to the digital age. ''
'' It's a scenario written to sell vaccines, it's exaggerated, it's no different from the flu,'' etc. We are approaching more skeptically with explanations,
Some of us;
'' Everyone will die. ''
'' There will be an epidemic that will last for years and it will be very bad ''
'' Our country will never get better again ''
'' This is just the beginning ''
Some of us say;
'' People are paying the penalty for what they did.''
''The world is very polluted and God is punishing us with earthquakes and epidemics.'' We make comments on the themes of punishment and guilt.
Why doesn't this external reality cause the same thoughts and feelings in each of us?
I think our "uniqueness" comes into play here.
Each person's individual story is unique and original.
This story is the story of a dough that is shaped in the hands of caregivers who are under the influence of the society and subcultures in which they live.
Yes, bad things are happening outside, it is impossible for us not to be affected by what is happening outside. Conversely, it is impossible for the depressing aspects and dark sides of ourselves not to affect how we perceive and experience the evil outside. For this reason, "Covid - 19" is around with all its evil, but the measure of how much it is inside us and how much it is outside is different for each of us.
Do you wonder where the evil inside us came from? I suggest asking those who wrote the story of the dough, or getting to know and understand their lives better.
Equating the curfew, which is said to be for the purpose of protecting our elderly, with fantasies of devaluing the elderly, falling out of favor, and in a way taking revenge, and pouring water on them, I suggest looking at it from this perspective while doing actions such as making fun of people on the street.
Under the discourse of protecting our children from Covid-19, we expose them to normativeism, restrictions and discourses related to the bad in the outside world (or the ones we reflect) that the child's soul cannot bear. I suggest looking out the window.
I hope Covid – 19 will devastate Europe. I suggest looking at it from this perspective when making statements such as "They should pay the penalty for not admitting us to the European Union".
I think we need to read Covid-19 carefully. Yes, he is outside, but his collaborator is also inside. You know what can be done about the outside world. What about the inside…
