Headaches are classified under various headings. These are;
a) Primary headaches; These are headaches that occur without being associated with any disease. 90% of all headaches are in this group. The types of headaches in this group are as follows:
1- Migraine
2- Tension-type headache
3- Cluster headache
4- Other primary headaches
b) Secondary headaches; These are headaches that develop due to diseases involving the nervous system or other systems. 10% of all headaches are in this group. Some of the causes of secondary headaches are as follows:
1- Related to head and neck trauma
2- Related to head and neck vascular diseases
3- Related to intracranial lesions related
4- Related to infections
5- Related to psychiatric diseases
6- Related to drug and substance use abstinence
7- Metabolic and headaches associated with systemic diseases.

WHAT IS MIGRAINE?;

The lifetime incidence of migraine in Turkey is 16% and it is more common in women.

The cause of migraine Although it has not yet been fully elucidated, it is suggested that it is related to nerve and vascular problems in our brain and skull.

The most important symptom of migraine is headache. This headache is usually dull, throbbing, accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound.
Types of migraine. What are they?

Migraine with aura; It is migraine accompanied by some disorders that occur before the start of the migraine attack. These are symptoms such as flashes of light in the eyes and speech disorders. Migraine with aura is seen in 10% of migraine patients.

Migraine without aura; It is the most common type of migraine. Typically, it is a throbbing, semi-headache. A migraine attack lasts between 4-72 hours on average. Combined with pain Sensitivity to light and sound, nausea and vomiting may occur.
Tension headaches;

It is the most common type of headache. It may recur at regular intervals or occur continuously. There are headaches that last for minutes or days.

The pain is in the form of pressure and tension and is often seen in the nape of the neck and temples. Nausea and vomiting are not common. That's why it's often confused with migraine without aura. However, these two types of pain are seen together in many patients.

Cluster headache:

It is a type of pain that is usually unilateral, occurs around the eyes, and lasts between 15 minutes and 3 hours. It may occur every day or at intervals of several days.

WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT OPTIONS FOR HEADACHE?
