Positive emotions about the future are: optimism, hope, trust, belief, while those related to the present can be divided into two; 1. Instant pleasures 2. Lasting pleasures. The critical issue is to understand the difference between reliable positive affect and negative affect.

Positive affect correlates with extraversion, while negative affect correlates with neuroticism. Positive affect persists after the age of 30, while negative affect peaks in adolescence. Partially hereditary negative affect is part of the avoidance-oriented (inhibition) system, while positive affect is part of the behavior-facilitating system.

The purpose behind negative behaviors, not just positive ones, is happiness. But while trying to be happy, the painful and real sides of life should not be ignored. It is not possible to live by avoiding or ignoring negative situations. Happiness is looking realistically and seeing positive. Happiness; It starts with accepting our life and being realistic, which does not mean giving up.

Family leaders are the captains of children's mental states. At the same time, gender and age differences are important in the evaluation of happiness, it has been reported that women and children feel emotions at extreme levels.

One of the keys to being happy is forgiveness, and forgiveness consists of two scenes, one of which is getting angry. Getting angry is the first way to get rid of anger, forgiveness is not acting as if nothing happened, one must feel the anger but not do it in a hurtful way. The second scene is "making the decision" to forgive. It's about wanting, not feeling.

We can provide the feeling of well-being with the following actions: good relationships, safe financial and physical environment. , physical well-being, productivity, rest, etc.

We use various defense and self-deception methods to maintain our positive view of ourselves and the world and to keep negative information under control. The opposite of optimism is managing or controlling negative information. The methods of self-deception we use to troll are defense mechanisms and positive illusions.

As it becomes harder to put one's beliefs into the social order, people are forced to look elsewhere for their values, and many turn inward. Self-efficacy theory is expressing one's sense of one's own abilities, strengths and skills. Focusing on these helps improve well-being. At the same time, optimism is seen to be correlated with mental health, that is, optimism, which was an indicator of weakness until the end of the 1970s, has been shown to be closely related to physical and mental health as a result of different research.

Another issue is emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is directly related to development and contains many structures to be emphasized. However, the validity of emotional intelligence is a matter of debate because emotional intelligence has a high correlation with personality traits and verbal ability. Another topic of debate is whether emotional intelligence is a talent or an innate feature.

Gifted children are one of the extraordinary cases that psychology is interested in. Data show that gifted children are twice as likely to have adjustment problems. And only a small portion of gifted children become adults who make significant achievements and contributions in their fields.

Another issue that subjective well-being and happiness is related to is characteristics and motivations. Traits are enduring and personal aspects that influence behavior. Subjective well-being is also linked to consistent personality traits and activities.

Belief changes push people to search for value and find value within themselves. Positive psychology centers on self-esteem and self-evaluation. Self-regulation studies have shown that using certain methods of coping with life's challenges creates better health and well-being.
