End Violence Against Women

In 2018 Turkey, if violence against women is still talked about, if adequate measures cannot be taken to prevent violence, and if the extent of violence goes as far as death, not only the relevant institutions of the state, but all individuals of this country are responsible for this bad situation.

Why does violence against women occur?

Women are exposed to violence more frequently in male-dominated societies. At the same time, women are discriminated against within the legal, economic, traditional, political and educational structure of society and are forced to depend on men. Unfortunately, men's superior position arising from laws and patriarchal traditions, women serving men and having a perspective that sees it as "natural" for men to have a say in decisions also fuel violence.

Violence against women is at every level;

Physical violence: Physical attack of a woman by her husband or partner. Sometimes it may seem like a simple slap, sometimes it is severe enough to be fatal and require a visit to the emergency room...

Sexual violence: A woman is forced to have sexual intercourse without her consent, and she is attacked not only physically but also emotionally.

Emotional violence: Mostly humiliation, shouting, saying that one is inadequate, saying that one cannot do anything or cannot take care of one's children, pathological jealousy, intimidation, disbelief at the level of superstition or paranoia, exhausting and intimidating pressures. .

Economic violence: If the woman works; Don't take his money away, don't use it economically. If a woman does not work, do not leave her penniless, do not force her to account for every penny she spends, do not prevent her from working.
