Many negative stimuli associated with vaginal penetration or sexual intercourse, most commonly pain, suffering and fear, can lead to vaginismus problems. Although most of the time there is no anatomic abnormality or physical obstacle in the sexual organs, in some cases gynecological problems may cause vaginismus by causing negative stimuli such as pain and suffering and developing a conditioned response.
Causes of vaginismus
