Hay Fever and Summer Flu

Pollens, fungal spores, animal hair, house dust and their proteins, which are small and light enough to be carried in the air, enter our eyes, nose and mouth when we breathe and accumulate on the mucosa in these areas. Just as a reaction occurs against every foreign substance that enters our body, a response occurs in our immune system against these foreign particles. This is a natural defense response of our body against foreign objects. While some people do not show any sensitivity to allergenic substances, some people show extreme reactions to these substances.
We call the substances that cause such a reaction in our body allergens, the resulting situation as an allergic reaction, and the affected people as allergic patients. One of these reactions is Hay fever.
In hay fever, there is sneezing, runny, itchy nose, throat, and eyes. It is caused by allergies to airborne allergens.
Summer flu is different from influenza infection. Unlike flu, hay fever is an allergy to airborne particles. Hay fever and summer flu are common names used in medical language as allergic rhinitis.
Allergic reactions may also tend to be familial. The chemical substance called Histamine, which is produced when antibodies against allergens entering our body fight against antigens, causes sneezing, nasal itching, runny nose, watery eyes, irritation and discharge in the nose and throat mucosa.
These people can treat people without allergies. Accordingly, they may experience colds, sinusitis, throat and ear infections more frequently. Sometimes even more severe asthma may develop in these people. People with such complaints should consult an Ear, Nose, Throat, Throat and Allergy Diseases Specialist for treatment and recommendations.
Among the precautions to be taken, especially;
House dust, smoky, dirty environments, air conditioners,
Animal residues, cosmetics, cleaning materials, spoiled food,
Laundry rooms, basements. Humid places such as floors and alcoholic beverages should be avoided.
Very cold, very hot environments and sudden temperature changes also affect patients.
As a result; society The quality of life of employees deteriorates and the productivity of workplaces decreases.
I wish you all healthy, sunny and beautiful days.
