Specialist Language and Speech Therapist Ayşegül Yılmaz, who stated that the disruption in the child's language development should be well observed by the parents, said that if the child's language development is noticed behind his peers or if the child's speech is not understood by the teacher and peers, a specialist should be consulted. He pointed out the importance of getting an evaluation from an expert if the child has difficulties in learning to read and understanding what he reads.

The Game of Naming Objects Can Be Played
During the holiday, while parents are doing activities to enjoy the holiday with their children, on the other hand, it is aimed at the areas that the child needs. Stating that she can turn to activities that will support her language and speech skills, Ayşegül Yılmaz said, “For example, if you are currently in therapy and working on your child's speech intelligibility, you can play a game of finding and naming objects related to the sound you are working on at home, in your place if you went on vacation, or during a trip.”
If the child's vocabulary is limited and sentence lengths are short, these skills can be supported while playing interactive games. Specialist Language and Speech Therapist Ayşegül Yılmaz expressed her interest in saying, “For example, you can talk about counting the ingredients you need while doing an activity together, how to cook which food, how to use which ingredients. You can also edit the language you use in accordance with your child's language development level.”
Therapies Can Be Planned According to the School Program
Specialist Language and Speech Therapist Ayşegül Yılmaz said, “After the break, we can plan the therapies in these areas throughout the semester. In order to get support, therapies can be planned according to the school program by meeting with your specialist.”
