Our lives have had to change in many ways over the last year. Unfortunately, we are having difficulty adapting to a situation we have never encountered before.
PANDEMIC!
The problems have reached a level that can almost be called a syndrome. But I am in favor of avoiding naming names as much as possible. Because when functional disorders that do not have a single cause, cannot be understood from the outside, and cannot be measured by objective tests are labeled with names, people see this name as an external locus of control and ignore the possibility that they may be in control. And they become addicted to living with this label in learned helplessness.
Why should we just be spectators for the things we can change?
What has this pandemic caused?
• Complete addiction to the digital world
• Compulsory asociality
• For most people, the monotonous process of going from home to work and from work to home becomes even more monotonous and time is spent only at home.
• Triggered by illness concerns and A nervous system that exhausts our body, which is constantly on alert
• Minimal physical activity and, on top of that, increasing physical loads that further disrupt the balance (More housework - and thinking it is a physical activity -, more uncomfortable, non-ergonomic working environments, etc. .)
What happened as a result?
• Never-ending fatigue that we will feel even when we first wake up in the morning, due to the nervous system that consumes and cannot calm down.
• Increasing loads and decreasing physical activities. Disrupted spinal circulation and pain that does not go away.
• Functional pain, which we felt from time to time before but ignored its signals, increases and manifests itself more frequently.
What can we do?
• Hear the alarm when you first wake up in the morning and activate the alarm of your nervous system immediately! It's time to do that stretch that you did years ago and forgot about :) It only takes 2-3 minutes.
Stand up and take a breath, raise your arms to the sky, feeling that you are rooted to the ground with your legs. Exhale for a long time and lower your arms slowly, feeling the relaxation throughout your body.
• Create "STOP" times for yourself and your body that you forget among all the rush and mental load during the day. He came back to himself Today is the time when you become aware of your existence by breathing, get off autopilot and just stay in the present moment. I think you can set an alarm and do it 4-5 times, or it can be a reminder sign that is always visible to you.
• A 15-minute walk that you take only by being aware of your steps and arm swings. (Goal-oriented, like when going to the market or going to work. Let it be different from a walk :)
• Dance with yourself by freely getting into the rhythm with the music you want for 10 minutes at home in the evening :)
You have only devoted half an hour a day to yourself, your mind and your body. I don't think you should do too much of this favor for yourself.
We know that; We exist as long as we can adapt to change!
