Lip Aesthetics

Having a full and smooth shape of your lips, which is one of the most important elements that complete facial beauty, is one of the indispensable elements of attractiveness, fertility, femininity and most importantly, beauty. Having beautiful lips is a privilege that every woman wants. For this reason, it is possible to make your lip structure, which changes structurally or with aging, more ideal, and to make lips that are too full or have incompatible shapes more aesthetic.

Reasons for Performing

It is preferred by women with thin or very thick lips in order to strengthen their facial beauty approach. As a result; The lip shape becomes clear while preserving its naturalness. Additionally, upper lip wrinkles and age-related shrinking lip lines can be restored to their original shape. Making your lip tissues more vibrant and of better quality can be achieved by stimulating the collagen production in the lip tissue. The lip is a dynamic structure. Excessive lip movements can be reduced with these methods. In this way, in cases where your palate is overly stretched and exposed, complaints can be eliminated by limiting your lip movements with different methods.

Operation Methods

Lip aesthetic operations include volume-enhancing methods, They can be grouped into three main groups: volume-reducing methods and methods that intervene in the lip-palate relationship.

Filling with foreign filling materials or the person's own tissues, reshaping the lips with surgery and changing the way of smiling.

  • Methods that increase volume: These methods; It includes methods such as injections of synthetic fillers, using the person's own tissues, or placing silicone implants (Permalip). Liquid silicone injection into the lips or any other area is not a method used. Although they are called silicone injection in society, fillers are not liquid silicone. Liquid silicone injection should not be applied as it causes very serious problems.
  • The aim of all these methods is to make the lips fuller without losing their naturalness.

2- Volume reducing methods: Two basic techniques are applied. . First, in the mouth The second method is to reduce the fleshy part of the lip massively by making incisions. The second method is to reduce the distance between the nose and the upper lip, which is applied to people with long nose-to-lip distance. The scars left after the surgeries do not disturb the patients because they are hidden in the lower border of the nose and inside the mouth.

3- Methods that interfere with the lip-palate relationship: These can be considered as procedures that change the shape of the lips during smiling. They are applied in cases where the lip movement is more from the sides to the top during laughing or the length of the upper palate is longer. Even though this may seem very sympathetic to some people (like Kemal Sunal), it is not preferred by most people. It includes Botox or muscle manipulation surgeries, which reduce the upward movement of the lip, and Orthognathic operations, which shorten the palate. For orthognathic operations, the plastic surgeon must work in coordination with an orthodontic jaw specialist dentist.

    Anesthesia Method and Duration

General or regional anesthesia is applied depending on the technique of the operation to be performed. In some operations that do not require surgical intervention, even regional anesthesia is not applied.

    Healing Process

The lip is one of the most sensitive points in our body. Since it swells easily and has high blood circulation, it is normal to experience bruising and swelling after the operation. Bruising and swelling will disappear within 7-10 days.
