It creates a picture of high fever, chest pain and cough in the patient. Fluid in the chest cavity can be visualized by radiological imaging. Inflammation (pus) may be seen in the examination of the fluid. In the presence of empyema, it is necessary to drain the inflammatory fluid in addition to medical antibiotic therapy. In the operation, inflamed fluid and pleural tissue are cleaned.
