How we cope with the pain that life brings is one of the most important factors that determine our mood. Our expectations, our dreams, our way of perceiving life, our goals. For example, there are things we have to accept. We need to accept that we can't be happy all the time, that we can't live a life stuck to someone all the time, that we can't accept death and our partial loneliness, and make peace with these feelings.
For example, a little sadness can make life more livable. Maybe it can help us adapt to whatever event or situation we are experiencing at that time. These are the things we can say about the depression we experience within acceptable limits in our lives.
There are also some depressions that have a biological basis and that we cannot explain with the events, situations and conditions we experience, for which it may be necessary to get help.
If you no longer enjoy life as much as you used to, if your sleep pattern is very disrupted (this may be due to sleeping too much or not sleeping at all), if you do not even have the strength to lift your arm, and if your work, family and social life is gradually deteriorating, then you should definitely consult a psychiatrist. It may be necessary to make a treatment plan based on the degree of your depression. However, let's say that medication is required. If depression does not have a biological basis, treating it with medication alone will not provide a permanent cure. After the symptoms subside for a while with medication, psychotherapy support may be appropriate. Because as long as the patterns that lead you to depression continue, this depression will be treated. But after a while, you may find yourself in depression again. The point is to identify the life cycle that leads you to this depression and break it.
I wish you days with love and happiness.
