Preventing School Phobia
Making people love school
Gaining the habit of doing homework
Establishing Empathy
Schools Are Opening. Some children are introduced to school this year. Some are in intermediate classes. There are things that parents should do to prepare their children psychologically for school.
Things That Must Be Implemented
It is important for parents not to be stressed about their child's school process. Some parents are more anxious than their children when they start school. Even if they do not express their concerns verbally, their body language and behavior cause their children to worry. Children reflect their parents' emotions like a mirror. It is important for parents to have positive emotions about the school process before school. At the same time, having full confidence in the institutions to which they entrust their children and expressing this to their children facilitates the child's adaptation process. It is necessary to support children in terms of compliance with school rules and a sense of responsibility. It is important to remember that they will adapt step by step. However, it is important not to give up completely in case he gets used to it anyway.
It is necessary to proceed in a controlled manner in cooperation with the school teachers and Psychological Counselor. Or, we should not take the child out of school thinking that he/she is not used to it for children aged 3 or 4 years. Children's learning capacity between the ages of 0-6 is 80% of the knowledge they will acquire throughout their life. The main principles I have mentioned so far can be applied to all children and young people from the age of 2 to 18 years. There are different situations in children who have just started kindergarten and children who have just started primary school. Children encounter limits and rules at school. Children who came from environments where these boundaries and rules were fewer may react differently during the adaptation process. He may not want to go to school. These reactions should be mixed with understanding and the school adaptation process should be carried out by providing as positive an environment as possible. We must accept from the beginning that each child's adaptation process is different. It takes some time for children in intermediate grades to change their sleep patterns and return to homework that has been interrupted for a long time. Parents and teachers should help children plan time and establish a learning system. brain every day n gets used to the new order in 21 days, provided that the same work is not repeated at the same time. However, if the child has fear, panic and helplessness towards lessons and school, then it is necessary to investigate the source. The child may have problems such as attention deficit and learning difficulties. Developing a positive attitude from parents and teachers is not enough for the child's adaptation process. Membership problems may worsen. Then it is necessary to get help as soon as possible. So, what should the treatment and support plan be like? There should be a holistic approach. Medicine is the last solution. There are many methods such as family therapy, play therapy, attention therapy. It is not enough to eliminate the symptom. A solution is produced from a perspective that makes the child understand the problem and focuses entirely on its solution.
