WHO (World Health Organization), 'Sexuality consists of the combination of physical, emotional, intellectual and social aspects that enrich personality, communication and love. Everyone has the right to access sexual information and to have sexual intercourse for pleasure or reproductive purposes. As a sexual being, man is not only physical; He defined sexual health as 'a state of health that ensures emotional, intellectual and social integrity, positively enriches and increases personality development, communication and sharing of love'. It is the individual's ability to continue his sexual life happily, without any pressure or harm. Sexuality should be experienced with whomever and however you want. While heterosexual people choose a partner of the opposite sex, homosexual people (homosexual-lesbian-gay) want to be with a partner of the same sex.
Gender: Anatomically, 'Woman' is determined by the sexual organs from the moment of birth. ' or the state of being 'male'.
Gender Identity: Different from anatomical gender, it is the person's knowing and feeling of the gender to which he belongs. It means recognizing oneself as 'I am a woman' and 'I am a man'. It is the gender with which the person identifies, determined in early childhood. It is not a choice.
Homosexuality: It is a person's sexual desire, arousal and sexual intercourse with his/her own gender. The individuals have normal anatomical structures, do not feel any discomfort with their bodies, and do not request to change their gender. The terms 'lesbian' are used for women who desire and experience sexuality with their own gender, and the terms 'gay' are used for men. Establishing relationships with both the same and the opposite sex is called 'bisexual'. There are no differences in the hormone profiles of homosexual individuals. In other words, a person does not become homosexual due to a hormonal disorder. Homosexuality is not a disease. It is not a situation that the person chooses voluntarily. Identity, which is determined at a very early age, begins to be discovered with increasing age and becomes increasingly clear with adolescence. And when sexual maturity is reached, the person becomes aware of his own orientation.
Transsexuality: In its simplest definition, a person is uncomfortable with his own gender and opposes it. It is called the desire to have the body structure of the gender. Starting from childhood, boys show signs of displaying the behavioral characteristics of the opposite sex, disliking their own body, feeling uncomfortable, and trying to hide their body. It is not a choice or a disease.
