Hand Aesthetics

Since hands are one of the areas most exposed to sunlight, they are one of the first places where signs of aging are seen. Especially when procedures aimed at rejuvenating the face, such as a face lift, are performed, the aging of the hands becomes more prominent. There are various methods that can be preferred in hand treatments. A method can be applied alone or combined with others to obtain successful results.

The most common applicable treatments are chemical peeling, microdermabrasion, sclerotherapy, injectable fillers and laser skin resurfacing.

Chemical peeling is applied to the skin by applying a chemical solution to peel off the upper layer of the skin and to heal and correct the skin. Chemical peeling is classified as superficial, medium and deep, depending on the depth level of the procedure. Generally used are superficial and medium depth chemical applications. Instead of deep chemical peeling, laser peeling or dermabrasion method is preferred. The fact that chemical peeling can be applied in a clinic environment and does not require operating room conditions increases its preference. Sunscreen and moisturizer should be used after chemical peeling treatment and between sessions.

Microdermabrasion is a method of spraying crystal particles onto the skin surface with a special system developed for the application, peeling off the problematic layer with a strong friction effect on the skin surface, and then removing these particles along with the peeled dead skin from the skin surface using the vacuum method. With microdermabrasion, the epidermis layer of the skin is gradually peeled off superficially. Thus, problems such as pigmentation spots, scars, and wrinkles on the skin surface are healed with the effect of peeling, depending on the degree of the problem. During the procedure, cell renewal is accelerated by increasing blood circulation on the skin surface, thus revealing a lively, fresh and smooth skin underneath. Even if there is no problem on the skin surface, applying it as a certain cure every year provides a delaying effect on the skin.

Sclerotherapy is a method used to treat the vascular appearance on the hand. In this method, a very thin needle is inserted into the vein. A small amount of drugs that dry the veins are given. These concentrated solutions disrupt the inner wall of the vein, causing the vein to close. The closed vein is then absorbed and destroyed by the body. Injectable fillers or collagen injections are the use of natural proteins obtained from living things in treatment. By injecting the filler into the skin, wrinkle lines are corrected by creating volume in the wrinkle area. It is mostly preferred by patients who want to achieve a young and soft appearance with non-surgical treatments.

Although laser skin resurfacing is a new method, it has been developed quickly and has become one of the preferred methods. It is used under computer control with a suitable laser device to remove wrinkles and refresh the skin. Wrinkles are eliminated by removing a thin layer from the top, smoothing the skin and at the same time tightening the collagen tissue with a special technique. After the treatment, younger cells with high water retention ability are formed, thus the skin gains freshness and tension.

Precautions regarding hand beauty can be taken before reaching all these stages. Many products produced against wrinkling of hand skin

and stain formation can be found on the market. When cleaning your hands, choose soaps containing moisturizers or creams. If you feel dry after washing your hands, care for your hands by massaging them with a moisturizing cream. Likewise, moisturizing your hands in sun and bad weather conditions is an important factor in hand care.
