How is anal fissure treated?
Prevention of constipation is very important in the treatment of anal fissure. For this purpose, plenty of fruit and vegetable fiber foods should be consumed.
Treatment of chronic anal fissure is based on relieving anal spasm by medical or surgical means. Although temporary relief is provided by medical treatment, the main treatment is provided by surgical intervention.
In recent years, a new alternative treatment option to surgical treatment has emerged. Botulinum toxin (Botox), which is used in other treatments, has started to be used in Anal Fissure.
This method does not require any preparation, anesthesia or hospitalization. Botox is injected into the anus with a fine-tipped needle. The toxin is in the sphincter muscles here. a partially causes temporary loss of function. During this time, the crack here is healing. The patient can go home or work 10 minutes after the injection.
