FACE AND LIP FILLER

WHAT ARE FAILURE FILLERS USED FOR?

The most common areas of use of filler injections in the facial area are the treatment of deep wrinkles around the eyes and especially between the eyebrows, the treatment of sad lines around the nose, under the eyes. Treatment of depressions and tear troughs, treatment of fine wrinkles and marionette pits around the mouth, and adding volume to areas such as lips, temples, chin and cheekbones. Unlike filler applications, which are effective on wrinkles formed by facial expressions, filler applications are effective on static wrinkles, that is, wrinkles that occur while not making facial expressions.

Since safe products are composed of structures that can be metabolized in the body, their effect duration is not very long. Synthetic products (containing permanent particles) are longer effective. However, they are less preferred among physicians due to the allergies and reactions they can cause.

WHAT ARE FACE AND LIP AREA FILLERS?

There are many natural and synthetic materials used for filling purposes. These products are not used in patients with immune system problems, pregnant women, or those using cortisone. The number of sessions varies depending on the desired volume amount and the tissue characteristics of the person to be applied.

Hyaluronic Acids

This group is among the fillers. It is the most frequently used and considered safest group in the world. Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found in many tissues in the body. Although side effects such as redness, swelling or slight bruising are rare when applying this group of products, they disappear within a few days if they occur. Foreign body reactions are much less than other types of fillings. Their effectiveness is around 9-12 months on average. The products in this group can be divided into two as monophasic and biphasic, depending on their synthesis. Monophasic ones are slightly harder and tissue fusion is less than biphasic ones. Biphasic ones have better tissue fusion and give more natural and softer results. For this reason, I prefer FDA (American Food and Drug Administration) approved biphasic products for all my injections. In this entire series, local anesthesia is used for maximum comfort of the patient during application. There is a tic (regional narcotic).

The effects of hyaluronic acid applications on facial depressions and wrinkles are seen immediately after the application of the procedure. On the other hand, since repeated hyaluronic acid applications will increase the skin's natural collagen production, it also causes a permanent reduction in the number and depth of wrinkles.

Under-Eye Light Filling

The content of the light filler includes hyaluronic acid, one of the building blocks of the skin, 8 amino acids, which are the skin restructuring complex, 3 antioxidants, minerals and vitamins, and lidocaine for patient comfort. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in our body and serves to bring the hydration of our skin to a good level by holding water in its deep layers. This powerful moisturizing agent begins to diminish with age. Therefore, the skin becomes dry, weakened and wrinkles appear. These products, which make a difference with the area they work in, the problems they solve and their long-term durability, are completely natural and are obtained from a bacterium found in the human body. In other words, it is fully compatible with the human body. Its permanence is around 12 months.

Collagen Fillers

In this group, there are fillers generally obtained from bovine collagen. This group, which was popular 20 years ago, is not preferred today due to the development of hyaluronic acid technologies and the allergic reactions they may cause. Allergy testing is required before application for many products in this group.

Synthetic Fillers

The permanence of the products in this group is longer than hyaluronic acids. . The most commonly used synthetic filler types are calcium hydroxylapatite and Poly-L-Lactic Acid.

Although the permanence of calcium hydroxylapatite is 2-3 years according to the manufacturer's data, in practice this period is mostly time is around 1 year. It is the form of a substance found in the bone structure that can be applied to soft tissue. Due to this structure, it is not possible to apply it around the eyes or lips. It can be applied to deep tissues such as the cheek, chin or cheekbone. Redness, tenderness, foreign body reaction and beading called granuloma The probability of a is slightly higher than the hyaluronic acid group.

The permanence of Poly-L-Lactic Acid is around 2-3 years. Since this product, which must be applied to deep tissues, increases collagen synthesis more than other fillers, the amount to be applied may decrease in repeated applications. It is not possible to apply it to the lips and around the eyes. Similar to the Radiesse product, the possibility of causing redness, sensitivity, foreign body reaction and beading called granuloma is slightly higher than the hyaluronic acid group.

WHAT SHOULD THE IDEAL LIP FILLER BE?

There are some proportions for aesthetic lips. For example, in the side profile, the upper lip should be 1-2 mm ahead of the lower lip, while when viewed from the front, the lower lip should be slightly thicker than the upper lip. When the filler is applied, your lips should not curl when talking, nor should they be felt when kissing. After all, it should be natural, like your own tissue. It is essential to use appropriate techniques and materials for this.

HOW IS LIP FILLER DONE, WHEN DOES IT FIT?

Lip filler is applied by injecting into appropriate areas after your lips are numbed with a cream. In order to minimize the discomfort of this procedure, the self-anesthetized version of lip filler (with lidocaine) should be preferred. It gains its shape as soon as it is made, but there may be a slight swelling in the first three days. It will be completely set in about 3-5 days. Bruising is very rare in lip filling procedures and is generally not seen.
