WHAT IS THE IDEAL WEIGHT?

There are three very simple methods used in practice to measure obesity:
1. BMI -Body Mass Index
2. Waist circumference measurement:
3. Body Fat Amount

BMI-Body Mass Index: With the BMI-Body Mass Index, it is evaluated whether your weight is at the ideal weight according to your height. Body mass index is the ratio of weight to height squared. The ideal weight is determined by an evaluation called body mass index. Everyone has an ideal weight range. Weight within this range is considered normal. As the body mass index increases, the risks of diseases caused by weight also increase.
Calculation:
Body Mass index: Body weight/(Height)2
Your Body Mass Index How Many?
WHO-World Health Organization's obesity disease test grouping is as follows:
Body Mass Index is normal between 20-24.9 kg/m2,
Body Mass Index 25-29.9 kg/m2 overweight
Body Mass Index 30 kg/m2 and above obesity,
Body Mass Index 30.0-34.9 First degree obesity
Body Mass Index 35.0-39.9 II. degree obesity
Body Mass Index of 40 kg/m2 and above is morbid obesity (degree III obesity)

Body Mass Index of 20-24.9 kg/m2 is normal. We call this the ideal weight range. Ideal weight is not a single value. A person should try to keep his weight within these limits throughout his life. While it is closer to 20 in young people, it may approach 24.9 over time.

Waist Circumference Measurement:
Waist circumference measurement is important in overweight people. If the height is more than 80 cm in women and 94 cm in men, the risk of disease increases in overweight people. If it is more than 88 cm in women and 102 cm in men, the risk of disease increases much more.
It is ideal for us to have a body mass index of 20-24 kg/m2 and a waist circumference of less than 80 cm for women and 94 cm for men.
These are our target in our measurements and the values we will maintain when we reach them.

Body Fat Amount: The amount of body fat can be determined with a tool that works with the electromagnetic waves emitted by our body.

Deviations from ideal weight:

Overweight:
Body Mass Index 25 – Overweight between 29.9 kg/m2

Obesity:
Obesity is defined by the WHO-World Health Organization as 'an abnormality in a way and rate that causes diseases in the body'. It is defined as 'too much fat accumulation'.
Body Mass Index of 30 kg/m2 and above is considered obesity. Obesity poses a risk of contracting some diseases.
