Reading minds is not a dream

Brain mapping and imaging, connectomics, mathematical modeling and artificial intelligence, therapeutic areas for nanocorrelation, neurophotonics and genomic therapy were discussed in all aspects at the N20 Summit. Prof. noted that mind reading is now within the range of science at the summit, where scientific progress is exchanged in science and technology disciplines that will enable them to rapidly introduce new diagnoses and therapies. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan drew attention to the surgical era in psychiatry.

The 4th G20 Brain Initiative/Neuroscience Summit, which was initiated in 2013 by Former US President Barack Obama to discover the secrets of the brain and to research diseases and develop treatments. It took place on July 5 in Hamburg, Germany. Üsküdar University represented Turkey at the summit, as in the previous period.

Under the leadership of Üsküdar University, with the participation of 40 scientists in cooperation with the Fraunhofer IME Institute, Brain Mapping and Therapeutics Association, Brain Mapping Association and the National Center for Nanobioelectronics, The results of the summit were also shared with G20 leaders.

Hamburg Vice Consul Meral Akbilek Koray, Migration and Turkey Expert Dr. Yaşar Aydın and Atlas Global Hamburg Manager Orhan Kabaoğlu also attended as guests.

At the summit, where Alzheimer's, brain tumors, depression, schizophrenia diseases and treatment methods were discussed, the way the brain works and the treatment possibilities of damaged pathways were also discussed.

At the summit, where the importance of DNA analysis in the treatment of diseases was also emphasized, the subject of "Brain Mapping" was discussed mainly with aspects such as imaging and mathematical modeling.

The present and future of neuroscience were discussed

Scientists who attended the summit, where the current state of neuroscience, its future and innovations were on the agenda, also called for global cooperation, data sharing and fair distribution of funds to combat the economic and human costs of neurological disorders.

At the summit, Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan “The Future of Psychiatric Neuroscience”, Prof. from NP İSTANBUL Brain Hospital. Dr. Kaya Aksoy “The Concept of Neurosurgery in Brain Hospital”, Üsküdar University Faculty Member Assoc. Dr. Bar ış Metin “Brain Park, Business Incubation Center for Neurotechnological startups”, NPİSTANBUL Brain Hospital Human Resources Director Lecturer. See. Serdar Karagöz made a presentation titled "The Future Concept of the Brain Hospital".

Director of the Hamburg Fraunhofer Institute, SBMT member and Vice President Prof. Dr. Carsten Claussen pointed out that the creation of global consortia of Brain Initiatives is a truly impressive approach to create a holistic front in the fight against neuro-psychiatric disorders that are devastating worldwide.

Prof.Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: Reading minds has begun to be within the range of science

One of the organizers of the summit, Üsküdar University Rector, SBMT Turkey President and N20 Vice President Prof. Dr. In his speech, Nevzat Tarhan stated that Üsküdar University was honored to sponsor and host this extraordinary meeting of global thought leaders in Germany and said, "We look forward to establishing a multilateral partnership with world-class scientists on the occasion of N20."

Surgical era in psychiatry!

At the summit, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan stated that the treatments of many neurological diseases have been developed with surgical methods and said, "Surgery treatments of depression and many diseases attract attention and are of great importance. We see that information technology coexists with neuroscience. Mind reading has now begun to fall within the range of science. "Research is being carried out on recording a person's thoughts on a computer and recording the information in the computer into the human mind," he said.

The cost of Alzheimer's care will be 1 trillion dollars!

SBMT Management Dr. Babak Kateb, Chairman and Scientific Director, BMF President, NCNBE Director and Director of the Brain Technology and Innovation Park (BTIP), said: "The human and financial cost of neurological disorders in the world is enormous. The cost of caring for only 5.5 million Alzheimer's patients in the USA is 200 billion per year." is close to USD and this cost will be close to 1 trillion dollars in 10 years. In 2015, the cost of dementia to the world economy was 818 million dollars, corresponding to the care of around 46.8 million patients. These figures will be 2 trillion dollars for dementia in 2030. If dementia were a country. Pure Domestic "It would be number 18 based on its revenue (GDP)," he said.
