Ramadan Sharif, whose beginning is mercy, whose middle is forgiveness, and whose end is salvation from Hell, has arrived!
The month of Ramadan is a month of restoration of the body and soul. The body and the soul are seasoned with hunger. Hunger removes the rust from our hearts and gives grace to our hearts.
Imam Ghazali said, "Hunger breaks the desire to sin and prevents evil."
There is no doubt that fasting has many benefits for the body. We can list many medicinal benefits. Of course, our health must also be suitable for fasting.
In short;
In the fasting body, the hormones adrenaline and cortisone are more easily mixed into the blood. These hormones also show their effects on damaged cells. Thus, these hormones prevent diseases and prevent the production of new damaged cells.
The fasting body almost takes care of itself. So much so that the fat surrounding our internal organs melts, our nerves are awake, our consciousness is clear, the body becomes stronger and gains the strength to withstand internal diseases.
It is a great blessing for our mental health as well as physical health. The month of Ramadan.
So that; The prefrontal cortex, located in our forebrain, is like the wheelhouse of the body. We realize the ability to reason, decide, show will, and control our impulses with the functions of this region.
The month of Ramadan provides an internal discipline in the individual.
Fasting; It aims to suppress the individual's desire to eat and control his impulses.
Eating is an action that activates the individual's reward pleasure center. If the individual can control his eating behavior for a long time, such as a month, and afterwards, it also allows him to train his pleasure mechanisms. and allows us to reason. Our decisions will be healthier, and therefore we can become individuals who do not succumb to their urges and do not act selfishly. It has been determined that the spiritual issues have decreased.
In other words, the more the bridge dominates the body and the spirit, the more human becomes human.
Excesses are rasped in the refined soul. It keeps people from being arrogant. Megalaman moves away from thoughts and egoistic attitudes. He is grateful for the existence of being healthy, breathing and having a piece of bread in his hand!
It also allows us to self-criticize.
We question where our daily rush and worldly affairs are going. We stop and breathe. The body breathes, the soul breathes.
We question our goals, we question our relationships.. Who have we offended? Who did we upset?
The rested soul finds the opportunity to think about the real reason for our existence. What am I living for? Can I think for my purpose? Are my actions harming my faith?
After 11 months of hard life struggle, 1 month of rest, self-review and self-discipline are the means of Ramadan.
We heal both our bodies and our souls.
As a final word, let's pay attention to Beyhaki's words:
”Fasting is not just about stopping eating, drinking, etc. Perfect and rewarding fasting is only to give up useless words, wasting time, saying bad words (gossip) and all inclinations of the nafs-i ammâre. If someone insults you or acts ignorantly against you, say to yourself, "I am fasting, of course"; be patient!”
May my Lord grant us to benefit from the blessings of the Month of Ramadan,
May the needs of all those in need be met in Ramadan,
May my Lord forgive all humanity, Good luck Ramadans...
