Preventing Vaginal Fungal Infection
Care should be taken to ensure that the vaginal area is dry. Fungal cells spread faster in moist environments.
Cotton underwear should be preferred. Fabrics containing synthetic and nylon prevent the vaginal area from breathing. As a result, fungal infections may occur. Vaginal douche should not be applied. Any chemical substance applied to the vaginal area changes the acidic balance of the area. Thus, the risk of fungal infections increases.
Sexual intercourse should be avoided on days when symptoms are intense.
Unhygienic environments such as pools, Turkish baths and saunas should be avoided.
Gynecological examination should not be interrupted.
Loose clothing should be avoided. should be preferred.
