Dental Implant
Implants are materials made of titanium, placed in the jawbone and imitating the tooth root in form.
Titanium is a 100% tissue-friendly material. It integrates with the bone in the area where it is placed, creating a special bond. In this way, the patient can easily use the Implant as if it were his/her own tooth.
Implants can be preferred in case of a single tooth missing, a few missing teeth, or the loss of all teeth (total toothlessness).
To whom and under what conditions are the implants given? Applicable?
In order for an implant to be placed, the jawbone in the area where it is planned to be applied must have a height and width to surround the implant. If there is not enough bone, preliminary operations can be performed to prepare the relevant area. The quality of the existing bone is another factor affecting the success of the implant. For application, it is sufficient that bone development is completed. There is no upper age limit. Implants can be applied to anyone with good general health.
How long does implant treatment take?
After the operation, approximately 2 - 6 months are waited for the implant and the jawbone to unite. A temporary prosthesis can be used during this period. After the adhesion process is completed, permanent prostheses are made.
What should patients receiving implants pay attention to?
Hygiene is of great importance in implant applications. Therefore, paying attention to oral care of the person to whom the implant will be applied plays an important role in the success of the implant.
Tooth Extraction
Sometimes for various reasons (a vertically broken root as a result of trauma, a root that is buried and damaged the surrounding tissues in the area where it is located, 20 years old teeth, having to gain space for orthodontic treatment, etc.) tooth extraction may be required. After the extraction, if necessary, all alternative treatment possibilities should be evaluated and rehabilitation should be provided as soon as possible.
