Zirconium coatings are one of the options we frequently use in aesthetic applications. In terms of aesthetics, it is located between metal-supported porcelains and full ceramics. While metal-supported porcelains do not experience problems such as gray reflection caused by metal, grayness at the gum edge, gum recession, and allergy, it is more durable than full ceramics, allowing it to be used in bridges and teeth that receive high loads. Zirconium coatings are obtained by computer-aided design and the scraping method from zirconium blocks without human contact. In this way, production becomes more precise and the margin of error during production in metal coatings is minimized. In addition, thanks to its extremely high biocompatibility, a healthy junction line with the gums is achieved and the natural appearance of the tooth is ensured.
When starting the construction of zirconium teeth, the first thing to do is planning, the teeth are prepared within the scope of this plan and the teeth are measured with special silicone impression materials. is taken and a model is obtained. Models are scanned and transferred to the computer and planning is done on the computer. After approval, the zirconium block is shaped according to the model by the device. This zirconium substructure is tested on the patient's teeth by the dentist. If there is no incompatibility, the stage of piling porcelain on top is started. This stage is the stage where aesthetics is achieved. Likewise, this stage is also controlled by the physician and evaluated aesthetically with the patient. After the final corrections, it goes into the oven to be polished and the finished restoration is bonded to the teeth with special adhesives after a final check. The process ends after the overflow of adhesive is cleaned.
It takes approximately 10 days to make zirconium teeth. Checks made at appointments approximately 3 days apart are to avoid any problems at the final stage. Proper communication between the physician and the patient and a clear understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of the application's limits by the patient affect the success of the result.
