Alzheimer's and dementia are diseases that can be confused with each other because their symptoms are similar. Since the changes caused by Alzheimer's and dementia in the brain have different characteristics, diagnosis can also be made with MRI. However, for a definitive diagnosis, examinations should be made for cellular pathologies in different layers of the frontal and temporal lobes.
The volumetric effect of the brain is evident in Alzheimer's and dementia. In a study published in the 130th issue of Brain magazine; Significant thinning in the brains of Alzheimer's patients occurred bilaterally in the medial temporal, temporoparietal regions and some posterior parts of the brain. The thick areas that are evident in the brain structure of normal people have become thinner in people with Alzheimer's. In patients with dementia, it has been determined that there is thinning in bilateral frontal and temporal regions and some structures in the front part of the brain. It has been observed that, like Alzheimer's patients, patients with dementia do not have thick brain structures as in normal individuals.
It is distinctive that individuals with Alzheimer's and dementia differ in some findings due to the influence of different brain regions. As the frontal lobe is affected in Alzheimer's, the person's ability to think analytically and function, such as reasoning, speaking, performing movements according to signals from the body, moral judgment ability, and reasoning ability, decreases. When the temporal lobe is affected, functions such as memory, speech and sound discrimination are lost. When the parietal lobe is affected, the meaning of letters, shapes and symbols is lost, and the ability to read, write and arithmetic is lost.
Dementia is not limited to memory loss and forgetfulness. We also encounter problems such as forgetting names and faces, not being able to remember where things were put, getting lost, not being able to use the right words, timid and uncomfortable behavior, communication problems, difficulty in walking, experiencing more than one emotion at the same time.
Alzheimer and dementia. Although they are thought to be the same, they are actually two different diseases with different courses and symptoms.
It is possible to be protected from the disease with alternative medicine methods. Reflex therapy method ensures that the signals sent directly to the brain preserve and protect the dynamic structure of the brain. It helps make old age a better quality period by preventing you from losing your health.
