CBT is a therapy method developed by Aaron T. Beck in the early 1960s. While listening to her clients in her sessions, Beck realizes that her clients experience similar "automatic" negative thoughts and that these thoughts are closely related to emotions. It helps clients identify, evaluate and respond to these unrealistic thoughts. He discovers that the clients he helps with this method show faster recovery. In this way, the foundations of CIS are laid. Although CBT was primarily structured for depression, it is now used to treat almost all psychological disorders. CBT is a short-term, present-oriented psychotherapy method aimed at solving current problems and changing dysfunctional thinking and behavior. Among the main reasons why it is preferred so much is that it is focused on solving existing problems and it takes a short time. However, the reason for the application of the person and the suitability of the CBT for the person are also important at this point.

A CBT session How is the general format?
At the beginning of the session with the client, the mental state is evaluated and then a connection is established with the previous session, that is, the client is asked how the week went. Homework is then reviewed. (In CBT, homework is given every week to ensure that the client's cognitive and behavioral changes continue throughout the week. However, these homeworks are not something that the client cannot do and the homework is decided together with the client.) The agenda is determined, that is, what will be discussed in the session is decided. The agenda is discussed. After the discussion is over, new homework is given in accordance with the agenda. The session is summarized, that is, what was discussed is emphasized again. Finally, the client is asked how the session went and the session ends. In general, everything is done by making decisions together during the therapy process. CBT is a therapy method in which cooperation is very important.
