LIPOSUCTION

Fat removal surgery, known as "lipoplasty" or more generally "liposuction", is the procedure of removing fat from targeted areas, thinning these areas and reshaping your body.

Fat removal surgery. It can be done to remove excess fat from many parts of your body such as abdomen, thighs, hips, butt, inner knees, chest, cheeks, chin, calves and wrists. It can also be applied simultaneously with reshaping operations such as a tummy tuck or face lift to further improve the results.

LIPOSUCTION IS IT SUITABLE FOR ME?

Fat accumulation in the body may occur as a result of eating habits, age, genetics and many other factors. If you are having trouble melting fat in certain areas despite following a regular diet and exercise, liposuction may be a suitable option for you.

Liposuction is not a weight loss method; Rather, it aims to improve and shape the current condition of your body. This surgery can be performed on both men and women. However, preferably you are required to meet the following criteria.

Being at your Ideal Body Weight (Your Body Mass Index, that is, your weight/height squared, is below 25)

This is ideal Maintaining your weight steadily

Having good quality skin that is flexible and allows recovery

Assoc.Prof.Dr. After taking your body measurements, Kamburoğlu will listen to your expectations and tell you whether liposuction surgery is a suitable option for you. As with all other operations, liposuction is considered suitable for individuals who do not have a serious medical condition and are in generally good health.

LIPOSUCTION TREATMENT PROCESS

Liposuction surgery can be performed under local anesthesia for small areas (for example, only around the belly button). However, for larger areas, general anesthesia is more suitable for patient comfort. At the beginning of the procedure, serum is administered to ensure fluid-electrolyte balance and bleeding control. Depending on the technique to be used here and the patient's structure, "superwet" or "tumescent" techniques may be preferred.

Today, 3 different liposuction techniques are used.

Classical Vacuum Assisted Liposuction: This technique is the most preferred and ideal technique in young patients with good skin quality and elasticity. In the first step, fluid is injected through holes smaller than 1 cm, and in the second step, the fat in the desired area is sucked out. If the distance to the fat removal area is appropriate, it is preferred to make the incisions in areas such as the belly button or bikini area, where they are less likely to be visible.

Laser Assisted Liposuction: This technique consists of 4 steps. Steps 1 and 3 are exactly the same as classical vacuum-assisted liposuction. In the second step of this technique, fats are absorbed with laser energy. In the third step, it is sucked out with classical vacuum-assisted liposuction. In the last and most important step, laser is used to tighten the skin and subcutaneous tissues. It is a more suitable option for patients with lower skin elasticity.

Ultrasound Assisted Liposcution: This technique consists of 3 steps. In the first step, serum is injected like other techniques. In the second step, fats are melted with ultrasound energy. In the last step, it is sucked out with the vacuum-assisted liposuction system. It is a method that can be preferred in patients with low skin elasticity.

RECOVERY AFTER LIPOSCUTION WHAT IS THE ME PROCESS?

Your complete recovery time depends on the size of the area where the fat was removed. Generally, if fat is removed from a single area, you can return to your normal work life within 2-3 days. However, if fat has been removed from more than one area, you may need a rest period of about a week. It is generally recommended to use a corset for 1 month. In order for your results to last for a long time after the surgery, it is recommended that you pay attention to healthy nutrition and exercise. You can do all kinds of sports activities 1 month after the surgery. On the other hand, if you gain weight, you won't just gain it from the treated areas. You gain weight in a similar way from your entire body. In other words, your old regional fat will not appear again.

Although liposuction is not a weight loss method, it is a very successful method for men and women who want to get rid of excess fat in certain areas. It reduces fat, especially in problem areas such as the abdomen, thighs and hips, and thus helps you feel better about your body.
