Patients who had an infection in their wisdom teeth and whose infection was reduced by using antibiotics, avoid tooth extraction because they think, "It got better anyway." After a certain time, these infections recur and patients suppress this infection by using antibiotics again. This chain continues two or three times. As a result, the cyst inside the jawbone grows, causing serious bone loss and the growth of cysts and infections. Postponed wisdom teeth problems cause more serious problems and difficult operations.

Since wisdom teeth are the last permanent teeth to appear, there may not be enough space in your mouth for them. This may cause wisdom teeth to remain impacted under the gum tissue or bone or next to another tooth. Impacted teeth are seen in two types. The first of these is the ones that are not trapped by the bone underneath the soft tissue, and their extraction is very easy and effortless. The second one is the one with bone retention. Tooth covered with bone tissue surgical intervention is required. Failure to fully erupt the tooth causes pain and swelling to the person. This problem sometimes leads to jaw locking. Wisdom teeth that cannot find space for themselves push and put pressure on the front tooth, causing crowding. In addition, since they are too far back and the gum around them does not have a normal anatomical structure, they can easily become inflamed. Since they cannot come out completely, the piece of gum on them becomes inflamed due to food residues escaping and bacterial growth. As a result of inflammation of the gum around the tooth; Pain, swelling and abscess occur. They create a suitable environment for decay.

Removing impacted wisdom teeth does not affect your oral health or the way you close your mouth in the future. The connections of the impacted wisdom teeth with the lower jaw nerve and the connections with the sinus cavity in the upper jaw are taken into account
