The mother establishes physical contact with the baby and makes the baby feel safe. Besides these, the mother has a mirror role. When the baby looks at its mother, it sees itself. If the baby's face wrinkles, the mother's face wrinkles too. If the baby's face smiles, the mother's face also smiles. How the baby looks when he looks at his mother's face depends on what he sees there. The mother reflects herself to the baby. When the mother cannot reflect, the child becomes restless, overactive and aggressive so that the mother's attention can be directed to the child.
